Our company

  • Coinbase; Blockchain Data Platform team within the Platform organization building an ultra-low-latency indexing platform for blockchain data; remote-first with quarterly in-person surges.

Your position

  • Build and operate distributed systems for real-time blockchain data ingestion, indexing, and query; own services end-to-end from design through production; deliver key initiatives (new chain integrations, migrations, backfills); define data contracts and contribute to SDKs/primitives; drive latency, reliability, and cost improvements; collaborate with product/platform teams; improve architecture and performance; support engineering quality via code reviews, testing, and AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience building and operating distributed or data systems in production
  • Solid systems design fundamentals (partitioning, consistency/availability tradeoffs, stream processing, storage/compute boundaries)
  • Proficiency in a backend language such as Go and/or Python
  • Familiarity with Kafka, gRPC, Redis, S3, ClickHouse, or MongoDB
  • Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear designs and shipped solutions with measurable impact

Compensation & benefits

  • Base salary range: $152,405—$179,300 USD (location-based)
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility
